The La Junta Legacy
Day of Service
Join your neighbors and community leaders on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM for a city-wide day of action and beautification across 14 municipal sites right here in La Junta.
Whether you want to get your hands dirty, paint, cleanup sites,or support our teams behind the scenes, your time and effort will help build a lasting legacy for our community.
Are you a student volunteer? If you are a student or cadet registering with FFA, 4-H, STAR R.O.T.C., FBLA, or the Scouts, please click the link below to register through our dedicated youth portal: [👉 Click Here for the Youth Service Grant Registration Page]

Please review the four specialized volunteer tracks below and select the zone where you would like to serve on the registration form:
Living Tributes Track (Landscaping & Planting):
What you will do: Work with our gardening and planting teams to install nitrogen-fixing vegetation, shrubs, and trees across our designated civic areas. This track involves digging, mulching, planting, and setting up initial watering zones to establish beautiful, lasting green spaces.
Legacy Restoration Track (Beautification & Painting):
What you will do: Grab a paintbrush and help revitalize local municipal infrastructure. This team will handle exterior painting, surface prep, and minor structural beautification on park structures, install benches, and safety elements across our 14 service sites. (Please NOTE: some of these projects will be completed in the days ahead of the 9/11 Commemoration)
Fairview Cemetery Track (Historical Preservation & Site Prep):
What you will do: Help prepare the historical grounds at Fairview Cemetery for the 25-year time capsule installation. This crew will assist with site grooming, clearing debris, and coordinating the physical preparation required for the permanent granite marker procurement and capsule burial. (Please NOTE: This site preparation will be completed in the days ahead of the 9/11 Commemoration)
Logistical Support Track (Supplies, Safety & Hydration):
What you will do: Keep our service sites running smoothly behind the scenes. This team will distribute safety kits and exterior paint supplies, run water and snack stations to keep volunteers hydrated, and assist site captains with general coordination and cleanup.
