Community-Led Remembrance

Dedicated to honoring those Coloradans lost on September 11, 2001, and preserving their memory for future generations. The 25th Anniversary commemoration on September 11, 2026, is a tribute to our local heroes—the first responders, veterans, and healthcare workers of the Arkansas Valley who embody the spirit of service every day.  Our commemoration includes a Hall of Honor dedicated to the 31 Colorado victims lost on 9/11 and a Time Capsule to be opened in 2051.

The Day of Service on September 11, 2026, an event organized by local volunteers and the citizens of La Junta, spans 14 historical and memorial sites across our community. From our schools to our cemeteries, we stand united with our local service members in the spirit of courage and remembrance.
